Creative Copy Challenge #65
BET YOU CAN’T take the 10 random words below and, in the comments, create a cohesive, creative short story tying all the words together! And remember: after (if) you finish, highlight your words and click the bold button to make them stand out and help you determine if you forgot any words. (If you’ve missed some challenges, we BET YOU CAN’T do those, either.)
Here we go, in numerical order again:
Jim didn’t have a clue who he was going to ask to the dance. He decided to dial all the female contacts in his little black book. When he went to divide them by age groups, his memory was so foggy, and he had been lonely for so long, he could not recall who was who, never mind what their age was.
Jim tried looking them up on Twitter and in Facebook to provide a reminder to himself but, it wasrough going, as most of them were from way before those services even existed.
Finally, an old girlfriend from college, for whom he had carried a serious torch, friended him on Facebook a week before the dance.
It turns out that she had become a widow the previous year, just about the same time he had become a widower. They went back and forth for a couple of days and found they were living within ten miles of each other. Jim finally asked her to the dance and she accepted. Now, after two months of dating, they are engaged.
Keep in touch with old friends any way you can, you just never know when you will reconnect.
